Mrs. Williams, our school psychologist, visited the health science classroom last week to lead students through QPR training and certify them in this important intervention. ♥️

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer—three steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide and support those in crisis.

We were excited to welcome Dr. Marissa Fouts to speak with our health science students!

She shared her journey through physical therapy school, the many roles she has held, and her experience starting her own practice: Proven Physical Therapy.

Students gained valuable insight into the field of physical therapy, including the importance of balance, the wide scope of PT, and specialties like pelvic floor health and dry needling.

Our 7th and 8th grade Literacy students had the opportunity to visit the Anne Frank Interactive at the Missouri Valley Public Library. It was a meaningful learning experience that helped bring history to life for our students! 📚

Students in Health Science welcomed Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Kris Rhode to their classroom! She shared insights about her career path, explained the steps to becoming a CRNA, and guided students through a hands-on intubation practice with a manikin.

We hope that your 6th grader is excited to come to Missouri Valley Middle School this year! We want to remind you that 6th Grade Training Camp is Thursday, August 14th from 9:00 am - 11:30 am for all 6th grade students. This will be a time for team building, walking through their schedule, asking questions, and having a snack and some fun! You can drop them off and pick them up at the middle school door. If your student didn't register last spring, please send them if they want to join!

Please continue to stay off the track through this weekend. Weather permitting, it should be available for uses on Monday.
