Superintendent of Schools
Dr. Brenton Hoesing
Superintendent of Schools
Missouri Valley Community Schools
I am honored to be the Superintendent of Schools here in Missouri Valley. I come to work every day excited to work with each and every one of our stakeholders to ensure the success of our school and community. Having worked in the school district as a teacher, coach, and principal, I know first-hand the strengths of our school and what has helped it become one of the best in the state of Iowa. The level of excellence that exists is due to the wonderful people in this community and the hard work of our parents, staff, and students.
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself and my family. I am a former Special Education Paraeducator, Coach, Play Director, MS/HS Business Teacher, PK-8 Associate Principal, Middle School Principal, and Athletic Director. More importantly, I am a father and a husband. My wife, Jenna, and I have three young daughters, Rylyn (7), Reese (5), Raleigh (2), a yellow Labrador Retriever, Tucker (9), and a little Havanese pup, Teddy (1). Our family is far from perfect, but my wife and I love the challenge each new day brings us as parents. I tell you this because my experiences as a father have helped shape me as an educator and a leader. I want the absolute best for this school and our community because my children will grow up here as Lady Reds.
If I haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting you individually, I invite you to stop into the District Office anytime. I would love to have the opportunity to introduce myself to you personally. My father, a Superintendent of Schools for over 30 years, instilled in me the importance of collaboration between the community and the school district. As a community member myself since 2010, I have a great appreciation for our community and work hard to ensure the district is doing all it can to work with and support the city of Missouri Valley and its residents.
My mission as Superintendent is to maintain and grow a rigorous teaching and learning environment, one that provides every student with a sense of belonging. Each student will have the opportunity to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially. It is essential that students leave Missouri Valley prepared for the real world, with the mind and skills necessary to pursue and achieve their goals and dreams. Our purpose here is to open doors to wherever students want to go in their life.
My leadership will focus on increasing academic excellence and providing successful extracurricular programs while fostering positive and healthy relationships between students, staff, parents, and community members. I take very seriously that you have entrusted your children into our care and I expect that our excellent staff will give their best day in and day out.
