MV Speech Team

Sends Eight to State

The Iowa High School District Individual Events Speech Contest was held on Saturday, February 27th in Logan.  MVHS took a team of nine students, competing in 13 different events.  Eight of those students received a Division I rating, qualifying for the state contest on Saturday, March 13th in Glenwood.

• Senior Aubrey Bierwirth qualified in Acting and Reviewing
• Junior Quinn Hejlik qualified in Original Oratory and Spontaneous  Speaking
• Senior Valyn Reinig qualified in Interpretive Reading of Poetry
• Junior Cody West qualified in Original Oratory
• Senior Dylan Ford qualified in Storytelling
• Sophomore Maggie Hawley and Freshmen Brett Clausen and Anna Rief qualified in Expository Address.

Receiving a Division II rating were Valyn Reinig for Solo Musical Theatre; Cody West for Improvisational Acting; and freshman Ashley Gore for Spontaneous Speaking.
