All about the DREAM program
Summary
- Provide positive role models for students
- Help to develop students' self-esteem and confidence
- Provide academic support
- Provide exposure to career options at Union Pacific and in the local area through activities and internships
- Provide post-secondary avenues for students for eventual employment
- Expose students to a variety of cultural activities to promote awareness
Who can participate?
- Any Omaha-based Union Pacific employee
- Students attending either Omaha North High School or Missouri Valley High School

Participant Expectations
Students Program Requirements:
- Establish relationships that are based on candid communication - respectful of each person's opinions
- Follow through with contacts and communicate via e-mail, Web site, and/or DREAM hotline
- Attend all meetings of DREAM students
- Participate in at least 75% of the group activities (other than social/fun)
- Assist in the planning of activities during the year
- Contact school personnel if problems, questions, or concerns arise
- Provide feedback throughout the year to help improve the program
- Evaluate the program
High School Coordinators:
- Recruit, interview, and aid in selection of students
- Serve as a liaison for students and parents
- Organize and provide training
- Assist with coordination of group activities
- Ensure students know about group activities and meetings
- Participate in DREAM monthly meetings and activities
- Evaluate the program
- Contact DREAM personnel if problems, questions, or concerns arise
