Education
I graduated from Southwestern Adventist University in May of 2007 with an Elementary Education degree. I was a student intern in a second grade classroom for two years and in an eighth grade classroom for one year. Teaching is in my blood. My mom taught for 11 years and has now been an elementary principal for the last 4 years at the school that I attended. My dad taught art for a number of years and my brother is also a teacher. I think it's safe to say that education always has and always will be part of my life and it is something that makes me the most happy.
I am currently enrolled at Doane College to further my degree and receive a masters degree in Curriculum Development.

Biographical Information
I grew up in the great state of Texas and lived there until I was 23. When I was in college I met my husband at the local restaurant where I waited tables. He was working for a cutting horse trainer at the time and little did I know that I would one day reside in his hometown of Dunlap, IA. I moved here after I graduated college and we got married. My husband still trains horses here and he also farms. I go home to Texas every chance that I get. My family is very dear to my heart and I firmly believe that distance makes the heart grow fonder.  We have an 18 month old, very active, little boy named Logan.
In my spare time I like to go horseback riding with my husband, I like shopping, running, and spending anytime I can with my husband, James and visiting with family and friends. Teacher stores are another of my weaknesses. Anything I can do to make my classroom more fun and interesting is something I am happy to do!
