Biography

Hello, my name is Patti Oldberg. I am currently teaching second grade. I have been with the Missouri Valley School District for the past 24 years. My first teaching assignment was in first grade, and I spent the next 20 years teaching kindergarten. I am now enjoying my change to a new grade level. I think second graders are awesome.
I grew up in Oswego, Illinois, which is located about 40 miles southwest of Chicago. (Go Bears!) I first attended Trinity University, which is in Deerfield, Illinois, and then transferred to Iowa State University where I graduated with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. I am certified to teach in grades K-6.
I have a wonderful family. My husband is Paul Oldberg, who also teaches for our school district as an Industrial Arts teacher. I have two great daughters. Our oldest is Emily who is 22 and lives at home with us due to some developmental disabilities. She is a special joy in our lives. She works at Crossroads of Western Iowa and has some other part time jobs at Midstates Bank and Dr. Walls office. Our daughter Katie is almost 20 and is attending Northwestern College of Orange City, Iowa, and she is enrolled in their nursing program.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time out on our boat, traveling, and reading.
