SELECTION & EMPLOYMENT OF PROFESSIONAL STAFF

APPLICATIONS: The first step in this process is to complete an official application form and return it to the address listed below. A letter of application should accompany the completed form. This letter will become part of the candidate’s file. Application forms may be obtained from:

CREDENTIALS & REFERENCES: A candidate’s file is usually not considered complete until the following documents are received. Furthermore, the Missouri Valley Community School District places full responsibility for generation of these materials upon the applicant.

CERTIFICATION: A candidate must possess an Iowa teaching and/or administrative endorsement or must be able to demonstrate that he/she is certifiable for a professional position in Iowa. Please direct any questions about certification to:

REVIEW: As vacancies occur in the system, the Superintendent and/or administrators will review completed files, a decision will be made to interview one or more applicants. Ordinarily, an interview will not be conducted until the application file is completed.

PHYSICAL EXAMINATION: Consistent with local and state requirements, once a candidate has been employed, he/she must undergo a physical examination. The Board of Education will reimburse the employee up to twenty-five dollars toward the cost of such physical examination.
