A little about me...
This is my 11th year with the Missouri Valley School District. I was hired in 2008 to lead Missouri Valley's Alternative Center for Education (ACE). I am also in my 3rd year of teaching Intro to Technology to 6th graders. I spent the previous 11 years working at Unity High School, the alternative high school that previously served the five districts in Harrison County. I have also coached basketball and volleyball at both the junior high and high school levels in Woodbine.
I am originally from Denver, IA, a small town about 15 miles north of Waterloo and Cedar Falls. I graduated from Denver High School and furthered my education at Mankato State University where I also played volleyball for the Lady Mavs. I coached the sophomore team at Mankato East High School during my student teaching experience. I received my Masters in Technology Based Learning from Morningside College in 2004.
I moved to Woodbine in 1992 and continue to reside in town. I am married and have two kids. My husband, Loran, is retired from the Iowa Department of Transportation. Davis is in graduate school at the Univeristy of Colorado - Denver. He will graduate with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in December. Paige just graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Psychology. She plans to pursue a PhD after working a couple of years. I enjoy swimming, biking, running (I've completed two half-marathons, two marathons, and two Market-to-Market Relays), reading (when I have time) and keeping in touch with family and friends through social media. I am an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoy going to a few football games each season. GO HAWKS!!
