Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!

Students (Pre-k through 3rd grade) and their parents enjoyed a special reading night with a Dr. Seuss theme. The kids enjoyed making their own hats to wear while they listened to some volunteer high school students read their favorite Dr. Seuss book. Parents were even involved with reading various Dr. Seuss books they remembered reading as kids. After the story, the crew was invited to the gym to sing Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss and enjoy some yummy cupcakes and juice. We even had a surprise visitor. The Cat in the Hat, aka, Felicia Cihacek, read the book Cat in the Hat for the kids. Each child got to take a Dr. Seuss prize home with them. Thanks to all of the families who came and enjoyed the night. There were over 200 people here in all. What a great turnout! A special thanks to Mr. Erik Jensen and his wonderful National Honor Society group of volunteer readers. They are awesome role models to our younger students. What a great way to be so involved. Also, thank you so much for the face painting by Audrey Bierwirth and Katie Archbald.
