Welcome to 3rd Grade
I am excited for the new school year

Welcome to Missouri Valley Elementary. I am looking forward to a great 2008-2009 school year.
As we look ahead to a new year I want to take a moment to share a few of my thoughts. The classroom is not just my classroom; it belongs to each of the students too. Together we will make our school year a success. We will have 3 R's in our room, not the traditional "Reading, Writing and 'Rithmetic"; the 3 R's in our room are as follows:
1. Respect yourself.
2. Respect your classmates and your teachers.
3. Be Responsible for yourself and your actions.
In addition to the 3 R's, I also have 3 P's I like to refer to. We will utilize the 3 P's every chance we get. They are:
1. Practice (practice really does make 'perfect')
2. Patience (with ourselves and with our classmates)
3. Perseverance (a willingness to keep trying and never giving up)*
*My father has trained and raced Harness Racing horses for years. He and I have worked together to create some fun videos as examples of perseverance. I look forward to sharing them with the class.
