High School: Teaching Staff: Gatrost

Biography

August 30, 2007

Hello, everyone! I'm Tamara Gatrost, an English teacher at the high school. I am currently teaching for the seventh year at Missouri Valley, where I've been since graduating from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, NE, in 2001. During my college years, I was a member of the volleyball team as a player and as a coach, and a member of Pi Epsilon Sorority. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and English.

Over the summer, I graduated with a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instructional Technology from Iowa State University.

I have many duties at the high school, most important of which is in the classroom, where I instruct American Literature, Journalism, World Literature, Advanced Writing, and eventually British Literature. I am also the head volleyball coach, a senior class sponsor, and the adviser for the newspaper and the yearbook.

In my free time, I play in a couple of volleyball leagues, spend lots of time with family and friends, tape as many television shows as there are days in the week, and read. I am also a proud fan of the Nebraska football and volleyball teams (GO 'SKERS), much to the disappointment of many students.  :)
