Fall Blood Drive
September 26, 2006
Members of HOSA volunteer at multiple blood drives throughout the school year. A blood drive takes a lot of effort and planning. Every year HOSA and the American Red Cross offer blood drives for students and community members to donate their blood and save lives. HOSA students usually start off the day around 6:30 am unloading the Red Cross truck and setting up. The students assist all day by working at the registration table, canteen, and escorting donors. This fall we had a total of 33 complete units of blood donated at this drive.
The American Red Cross presented the group with an award for nearly reaching the goal (35) with only two days to plan. A plaque was given to the group and is displayed on the bulletin board in the commons.
