QUESTIONS TO ASK WHEN YOU VISIT A COLLEGE
ASK STUDENTS:
- How many hours a week do you study? Is that amount typical?
- Are faculty members accessible to students?
- Are the professors interested in students?
- Are computers accessible to students?
- What are the residence halls like?
- How many students live in each room?
- Is the food good?
- What is the library like?
- How easy is it to get to classes?
- What do you like most about the college? The least?
- Can you have a car on campus?
- If you don’t have a car, is transportation available?
- Would you select this college if you were starting over again? Why or why not?
ASK AN ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVE:
- What makes your college special?
- Does your college have the major I want?
- What extracurricular opportunities are there on campus?
- What on- and off-campus jobs are available?
- Are there new programs and facilities that may be available before I graduate?
- What is the placement record fro graduates in their field of study?
- What services does the Career Planning/Placement Office offer?
- What are the requirements for admission to this college?
- What is the average class size and the faculty to student ratio?
- What kind of financial aid opportunities are available?
- What are the deadlines for scholarships offered by the college?
AFTER A TOUR OF THE CAMPUS, ASK YOURSELF:
- Are the buildings well kept?
- Are the grounds clean and neat?
